Each year, we invite researchers from our local universities to apply to our research grants programme. Through this programme, we fund local researchers to carry out high quality research that delivers real benefits to people living with chest, heart, and stroke conditions.

Attend one of our application workshops:
- Face to Face Workshop: Wednesday 6th May 2026, 11am, NICHS offices (Belfast).
- Online Workshop: Tuesday 12th May 2026, 11am.
- Registration required.
Each workshop will outline:
- the application process
- the type of research we fund and don’t fund
- how we decide which applications to fund
Professor Mike Clarke, Director of NI Clinical Trials Unit, will provide a practical workshop on research design.
